2018’s Feed Your Mind Gala was a raving success thanks to the efforts of our sponsors, donors, and all who attended the event. We were able to raise $478,000, a $53,000 increase from last years event!
CONTINUING THE LEGACY
In 2018, we brought together a selection of the top Chicago chefs, pastry teams and wine . In all, and astounding 34 chefs and their restaurants participated in dinner, providing a one of a kind experience for our guests. Our guests were greeted at the welcome reception with Honey Butter Fried Chicken bites and champagne, a throwback to one of our most popular fundraising events. After dinner, a selection of the best pastry chefs in the city curated a delectable grab and go dessert table. Our chefs were not the only ones impressing, as our sponsors took center stage at the seated dinner. Tenzing selected an unforgettable wine pairing served throughout the dinner, as well as a curated selection of special wine bottles hand selected by master sommelier Ken Fredrickson.
The Main Event
Following the welcome reception, our guests were ushered into the main dinner space where our chefs plated dishes table side and interacted with all. The result was an intimate evening, with dishes that greatly exceeded expectations from the likes of Grant Achatz, Rick Bayless, Sarah Grueneberg, and of course our founding chefs Paul Kahan, Jason Hammel, and Matthias Merges.

An auction like none other
Dinner concluded with an energetic live auction, packed with priceless packages like a trip with our founding chefs to the Nashville to experience the Whiskey Trail as well as select your own barrel for aging as well as our classic guest favorite, a dinner at founding chef Paul Kahan’s house.
A sweet reception
After the meal guests were welcomed into a dessert reception, showcasing the finest pastry chefs Chicago has to offer, including Sarah Mispagel, Leigh Omilinsky, Dana Cree, Sandra Holl and more. Guests were invited to fill to-go boxes to their content with some of the best pastries our city has to experience!
